DNA Testing
- An AABB accredited laboratory must send the DNA test kit, including a pre-paid, pre-addressed return envelope and explicit sampling instructions, directly to the consular section for testing of the beneficiary. All DNA sample collections must take place at the consular section of the U.S. Embassy in Yerevan, Armenia.
- Upon receipt of a DNA test request from an AABB accredited laboratory, the consular section will make a sample collection appointment and will contact the applicant. AABB accredited laboratories are responsible for including applicant’s local contact information.
- On the DNA sample collection appointment day the applicant must present his or her passport with two copies of biometric pages and two 5X5 cm pictures. Please note that there is fee to be paid for sample collection. The payment can be made directly to the embassy’s approved DNA sample collector on the day of the test.
- Upon completion of the test, the consular section will ship (using the pre-paid, pre-addressed return envelope provided by the AABB lab) the sample test kit back to the U.S. based AABB laboratory within 24-48 hours.
