The notarized translation must include a signed statement from the translator that certifies that the translation is true and complete, and that the translator is competent to complete the translation.

Country Specific Document Information

Depending on your situation, you may be required to obtain documents (a police certificate or birth certificate, for example) from countries where you have lived in the past.  The State Department maintains information for every country on what documents are available, and how to obtain them.  For further information, please see the Country Specific Document Information for your required country at http://travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_3272.html.

Medical Exams

All applicants for immigrant visas must pass a medical examination done by one of the Embassy´s approved panel physicians. The list of panel physicians (PDF 216 KB) contains information on how to set up an appointment and the cost of the examination.
