U.S. Ambassador Visits Sissian

U.S. Ambassador Marie L. Yovanovitch visited Sissian on May 20, 2009. She met with Mayor Aghasi Hakobjanian to learn about the current social and economic situation and to discuss U.S. government assistance programs in the region.

The Ambassador met with Sissian school teachers and visited the Migration Center funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development and managed by Eurasia Partnership Foundation. She toured Armen Andreasian Ltd, where she met with employees and learned about the mining operation. The Ambassador also had a lunch and roundtable discussion with NGO leaders.
