U.S. Embassy Office of Defense Cooperation and U.S. Department of Defense donate two minivans to the Shirak Regional Library

Yerevan, Armenia – On December 16th , MAJ Shawn Kyle, Chief of Office of Defense Cooperation of US Embassy handed the keys of two minivans to the Director of Shirak Regional Library Gevorg Amiryan. The library will use the vans to provide traveling exhibitions to more than 10,000 people in the region, promoting the services of the library, and to bring materials and services to remote villages.

The U.S. European Command Office of Defense Cooperation Humanitarian Assistance program sponsored the donation, total value of which is $45,000.

The Shirak Regional Library currently serves the Shirak Marz area, including five district libraries. Existence of book-mobiles will allow the library to expand their travelling exhibit services to over 127 villages in the Shirak Marz region.
