Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Yerevan Kindergarten #147

Yerevan, Armenia – On December 21st, MAJ Shawn Kyle Chief of Office of Defense Cooperation of US Embassy joined Yerevan Kindergarten #147 Director Margarita Gharibyan, kindergarten staff and representatives of Yerevan Municipality and Shengavit community administration to conduct a ribbon cutting ceremony in honor of the renovation of the second floor of the Kindergarten #147.

The U.S. European Command Office of Defense Cooperation Humanitarian Assistance program project included renovation of walls, installation of new windows and doors, new electrical systems, change of ceramic wall and floor tiles in the bathrooms, as well as repairing internal water supply and sewage piping. Total value of this renovation is $182,000. A local Armenian construction company, CESCO Corporation has worked over the past ten months in renovating this facility. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers oversaw all aspects of the project from initial development through contract negotiations to quality assurance inspections.

The kindergarten serves more than 140 children from local community. Now that renovations are completed, the second floor will provide warmer and more comfortable conditions for the children, who spend here most part of their day.
